A lot of French teachers struggle with student engagement in French writing.
A good way to promote this is by using comics!
Try Tintin, or Asterix le Gaulois!
They’re funny and the art style is cute. Once students are engaged and hooked onto reading these comics (which also help with reading comprehension, due to all the pictures), they can then transition into harder stuff.
Also, you can have students bring themselves into this. Try having students make their own comic! Bitmoji is an excellent site for this (Though you’ll probably need school permission to use it).
This is also a way to do cross-curricular integration, as this combines art and French.
Try it! You won’t be disappointed.
